Annual trek highlights sacrifices

HIGHTSTOWN — The annual parade of motorcycles participating in the America’s 911 Foundation Ride passed through downtown Hightstown Saturday afternoon with horns honking, sirens blaring and cheers from onlookers.

"We want to never forgot the tragedy of that day as well as praise our police, fire and EMT’s that continue everyday to protect us," said Co-founder Eric Sjurseth of America’s 911 Foundation Inc. in an email on Monday. "No one hardly thinks of them until you need them. Some of them do it for nothing, while some are paid nowhere near enough I would add."
